For the family allowances, you are a single-parent family when you (the recipient) live alone with one or more beneficiary children .
Single-parent families receive a supplement to the ordinary child allowances. This supplement
is however subject to a number of conditions:
- The recipient may not be married or may not form a de
facto family (unless this is the result of a de facto separation);
- The professional and/or replacement income of the recipient may not exceed a certain maximum amount;
- The entitled person may not
open any entitlement to an additional benefit, which means that he or she is not a retired or handicapped
person or a fully entitled unemployed person having started as a self-employed person.
